Welcome – Opening Gambit

Well, here it is, this is me stopping rabbitting on at home and disagreeing with peoples approach to Whisky, or Rock, and rather than hunting for the perfect combination of things i like when i go out or stay in, or travel somewhere new (and not really finding it), this is me putting my money where my mouth is and sharing what i find on that journey.

There’s a lot of good Whisky sites, and I like to look through, though i don’t feel endless lists of tasting notes really help me, its all personal taste, and the fun is in the tasting with friends.

There’s also a lot of Travel guides which tell you where to find a hotel or a bar or a venue, though not so much where’s got a great vibe and can i get a decent drink. The same is true for Music sites, which will tell you where the big bands are playing, and what their latest album is like, not if there is a great batch of local music bands, is the food authentic and does it do a great Whisky cocktail. Ill try and throw in some great links and photos along the way.

Feel free to disagree, comment, add to what I’ve found, it’ll be fun, and i’ll be the one at the bar, Rocking out, getting the barman to drag that unopened bottle of untried Rye Whiskey from the back-shelf.
